ISABEL SANGRO
b. 1980, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Based in Madrid, Spain

Spanish photographer, Asturian by heritage and raised between the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, I work with photography to explore displacement, hybridity, and identity. My practice blends documentary and conceptual approaches, reflecting how geography, memory, and lived experience shape human behavior and notions of belonging.

I studied Professional Photography at EFTI and hold a Master’s degree in Film Criticism from ECAM.

I was awarded the PHotoESPAÑA’s Master scholarship and selected for its first virtual NFT-format exhibition.
My professional experience includes time at Isabel Muñoz’s studio and serving as Gallery Manager at Leica Madrid.
Working across still and moving images, I am interested in how evolving formats — from analog processes to NFTs — expand the boundaries of photographic storytelling.
